Mozilla releases Firefox 37 with improved download performance, more security
The Firefox version 37 gets new locale support, slight tweaks in default features and added site protection.

New Delhi: Mozilla has rolled out version 37.0 of its Firefox Web browser that offers improved download performance and protection against site impersonation.

In its Release Notes, Mozilla lists out the new features and improvements in the latest version. FireFox version 37 includes addition of new locales -Albanian, Burmese, Lower Sorbian, Songhai, Upper Sorbian, and Uzbek. It has further set Yandex as the default search provider for the Turkish locale.

It also provides new download manager back-end and uses OneCRL centralized certificate revocation to thwart site impersonation. Other features include encryption of HTTP traffic where the server supports HTTP/2 AltSvc and page address in the URL bar instead of the page title by default.

For site security, Mozilla has disabled insecure TLS version fallback and extended SSL error reporting for non-certificate errors. It has also changed how the Android home screen shortcut works. The feature will now open existing tab instead of a new tab.

Users can encouraged to give their feedback for the latest version on the Firefox for Android Feedback section.
