New Delhi: With Windows 10, Microsoft’s Lumia range of flagship smartphones are also set for a makeover.
The software giant is said to release two new Lumia smartphones this year. The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL (codenamed Cityman and Talkman) are rumoured to come with the new USB Type-C port, wireless charging capability, and iris scanner, along with a host of new features.
Windows Central reports that the Lumia 950 will come with a 5.2-inch OLED display and run a 64-bit hexa core Snapdragon 808 chipset clubbed with a 3GB RAM.
It is further said to include a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera combined with a 5 megapixel wide-angle front snapper. It will be powered by a 3000mAh removable battery.
The larger 5.7-inch Lumia 950 XL is said to be powered by a 64-bit octa core Snapdragon 810 chipset combined with 3GB RAM. While the camera specifications remain the same as the smaller Lumia 950, the one in 950 XL will come with triple LED flash. It will come packed with a 3300mAh battery. It will include aluminum side buttons and feature a 1mm silver ring inside the circumference of the black camera pod.
Both the phones will come with the new USB Type C port for charging, an Iris scanner for Windows Hello, and 32GB of internal storage.
The new Lumia phones are also said to optionally have a surface pen and smart cover as added accessories.
