Woman live-streams her drunk driving on Periscope, gets arrested
Titled, ‘Drunk girl driving,’ Beall’s 11-minute live stream video shows her admitting to being drunk and lost.

New Delhi: Social media has strange ways of raising you to fame. A 23-year-old woman was arrested when she tried to go cool with her live Periscope video while driving in a state of intoxication.

The Lakeland Police Department in Florida was informed by multiple citizens when Whitney Beall went live while drunk-driving using Twitter-owned app Periscope.

Titled, ‘Drunk girl driving,’ Beall’s 11-minute live stream video shows her admitting to being drunk and lost. She also admits that driving drunk is not cool.

Beall even attempts to field directions from users watching the stream, Mashable notes.

While some concerned users urged her to pull over, some others accused her of faking it and others attempted to get information about her location.

One caller was able to identify her location and inform the police.

Eventually, one police officer logged into his personal Periscope account and was able to find Beall by identifying landmarks in the area. She was found driving with a flat left tyre and as officers attempted to pull over Beall, she hit the curb with her right front tyre.

Beall failed the standardised field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
