The incidents of crocodiles attacking people are very common in many parts of the world. Today, we will talk about one such similar incident that was reported from Australia. It was reported that a man was attacked by a large crocodile. According to the reports, the man was fishing on the shore with his children when suddenly he slipped. The crocodile was possibly waiting for his prey, because as soon as he slipped that crocodile dragged the man into the water. It is now feared that he might have lost his life in this incident.
The man is aged 40 years old. He was fishing with his children at Cooktown, Queensland on August 3, Saturday when he slipped in the water. The reports further stated that the police officials and rangers had launched a search operation near the Annan River Bridge to trace the man. This area is known for fishing but is also a famous crocodile habitat.
It is reported that a five-meter-long crocodile is spotted in the area. Queensland Police mentioned that the man had gone into the water and vanished after that. An ambulance service wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that paramedics and emergency services were in continuous search of the man after the incident was reported at around 2:07 PM.
In many areas of Australia, crocodiles come from deep seas into the rivers. The crocodiles were even seen wandering inside the cities. The incidents of crocodile attacks have become common news for people staying in the country. According to a report by Mirror, there are more than 1 lakh crocodiles in the Northern Territory of the country.
However, officials mentioned that attacks on humans by crocodiles are generally rare. An official named Mr Potter mentioned that the wildlife officers are permitted to remove the crocodile. He added that the crocodiles that attack human beings are often captured and killed if spotted by the officials.
