Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, caught attention not only for its storyline and Kapoor’s performance but also for smashing box office records. Meanwhile, Bobby Deol’s brief yet impactful role as Abrar Haque sparked discussions, particularly when the background song Jamal Kudu accompanying his entry went viral, leading the makers to release it on public demand. This song is everywhere on social media and has inspired countless reels and videos. Amidst various renditions, musician Rishab Rikhiram Sharma stands out, as he reimagined the song in the most unique way. The musician’s version blends traditional sitar tones with trap beats, creating a fascinating fusion.
Set in a wedding scenario, the song that has become internet sensation is not a fresh creation but a reimagined rendition of an age old Iranian folk melody, originally created by the Khatereh Group. Sharing the video on Instagram, the musician wrote, “This is my entry into 2024. Since childhood, I’ve navigated dual musical paths: mastering sitar in the traditional way while teaching myself music production (trap, soulection type beats, EDM etc.). Now, it’s time to merge these passions into an innovative blend. 2024 calling for a new sound/revolution.”
