Elon Musk to Bring Back Vine? 'X' Boss' Poll Gets a Massive Thumbs Up By OG Users
Elon Musk hints at bringing back 'Vine', internet elated after he drops a poll in viral post.

Remember Vine? That fun little app Twitter used to own, where you could share short videos? It disappeared way back in 2017. But guess what? Elon Musk, now the big boss of Twitter (which he’s calling ‘X’ these days), just dropped a hint that Vine might be making a comeback. He threw up a poll for his 180 million followers on X, asking if they’d like to see Vine back in action. And guess what? A whopping 70% gave a nod, signalling a desire for its comeback.

Folks are buzzing with excitement about the return of this six-second wonder.

“This would truly be a historic return,” exclaimed one user. Another chimed in, “Yes. Imagine how things could have been different if it were never cancelled…” And there’s a resounding call to “bring it back!” echoing across the platform.

Then, of course, the jokes started rolling in. “Instead of Vine, call it Xtube or Xvideo wait, forget about that, just call it XClips or Xtok,” quipped one user. And another suggested, “and change the bird logo to a doge.” Amongst the laughter, it seems people are getting creative.

But is Musk really serious about this resurrection? Hard to say. He’s asked the same question before, back in 2022, and got a similar response. Even got a nod from Mr. Beast on YouTube. But then it all went quiet. Until now, that is.

For those still unfamiliar with ‘Vine,’ it was a trailblazing short-form video platform that emerged long before TikTok and Instagram Reels took the spotlight. Vine burst onto the scene in 2012, quickly becoming a massive hit. Twitter recognized its potential and acquired it for a reported $30 million. Twitter operated Vine as a standalone service for five years, from 2012 to 2017. Unfortunately, despite its popularity, Vine was discontinued due to challenges in monetizing the platform.
