How Lamborghini Was Born Out Of A Heated Debate Between Its Founder And Ferrari Owner
It is said that the real driving force behind Ferruccio's founding of Lamborghini was a heated discussion he had with Enzo Ferrari.

Lamborghini is one of the best-selling Italian luxury sports car brands with the highest number of automobiles sold across the world. Italian automobile designer Ferruccio Lamborghini was the founder of this brand. There is an interesting anecdote that makes the birth of the Lamborghini brand quite endearing. It is said that the real driving force behind Ferruccio’s founding of his Lamborghini automobile factory was a heated discussion he had with Enzo Ferrari. While Ferruccio was the founder of the Lamborghini brand, Enzo had founded the Ferrari brand. Ferruccio had a passion for brand-new car models and owned two of the Ferrari cars as well. His experience with Ferrari was, however, not good, and felt that the clutch of these cars broke very easily. Due to this reason, he headed to Enzo’s residence and in 1962 told him about the bad condition of the clutch. Instead of listening to constructive criticism, Enzo said, “The clutch is not the problem. The problem is you don’t know how to drive a Ferrari and you break the clutch.” Ferruccio was offended and said that he would never buy Enzo’s cars again. Ferruccio said that he would make his cars and be sure that they worked the way he wanted them to.

The rest, as the world knows, is history. Only a year later, Ferruccio founded the Lamborghini company in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The first car model built by this company was the Lamborghini 350 GT, which was presented at the annual car show in Turin in 1964.

As of now, Lamborghini has accomplished many milestones and even surpassed the annual sales mark of 100 units in India in 2023. The company had recorded a sale of 103 units sold in India for the first time. Lamborghini achieved a well-distributed global sales performance in 2023 with Europe, the Middle East, and Africa contributing to its success. The popular cars of Lamborghini include the Urus (Rs 4.18 Crore), Revuelto (Rs 8.89 Crore) and Huracan EVO (Rs 4.00 Crore). Countries like Germany, China, and Japan are some of the other popular markets for the sales of Lamborghini brand cars.
