Mexican food is known for its kick, but can it match the fiery intensity of Indian cuisine? Not even close! A recent viral video put this to the test when a Mexican street food vendor was introduced to authentic Indian dishes—and let’s just say, the results were explosive. In a now-viral vlog, an Instagrammer brought a local street food vendor from Mexico to India, challenging him to try some of the spiciest foods in exchange for a car. The caption, translated, read: “Sending him to try street food for a car.”
The vendor bravely took on the challenge, starting with the famous ‘Lalaji Ki Kachori’ in Kolkata. The kachori, served by the renowned angry young man, proved too much for the vendor. His first bite was a game-changer. His face contorted, eyes welled up with tears, and he broke into a sweat. Goosebumps covered his skin as he grappled with the intense heat of Indian spices.

The ordeal didn’t end there. The video later showed the vendor being treated at a hospital, highlighting just how potent Indian spices can be for those unaccustomed to them.

The video quickly went viral, racking up over 22 million views after being reshared on ‘X’. Indian viewers flooded the comments with a mix of concern and humour. “Poor guy, They shouldn’t experiment with such spicy indian food,” one user remarked. “Western people can’t digest Indian spicy unhygienic food,” echoed another.

However, many speculated that the vendor’s distress was due to the food’s hygiene rather than its spice. “Its looks more of a unhygienic food than spicy,” commented one viewer. “Bhai, isko spicy nahi, diarrhea hua hoga. Check karwa lo ek baar. Koi aur place nahi mila kya khane ko?” added another.
Despite the mixed reactions, the original Instagram video garnered around 12 million views and plenty of comments.
