The 2024 World T20, co-hosted by USA and West Indies, is currently underway and the craze and hype surrounding the marquee event is peaking. Fans have been thronging the venues to witness their favourite side clash for the prized trophy. Amid the incredible fanfare and the gusto that has been around the competition, a video of a perplexed vlogger failing to recognise Indian World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has now gone viral on Instagram. In the video, Yuvraj can be seen surrounded by the press and fans. The excitement to catch a glimpse of Yuvraj is quite palpable in the video but Yi Wang, a New York-based blogger, had no clue who the legendary India cricketer was.

Yi Wang even asked, “Can someone tell me who this is? Apparently very famous in India?”

The post was an instant hit amongst the fans and it has so far accumulated more than nine million views.

Responding to Yi Wang’s query, one social media user cheekily commented, “Michael Jordan of Indian cricket.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, one fan commented, “To cricket he was like what Michael Jordan was to basketball. King”

Referring to Yuvraj Singh’s epic batting against England in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, this user replied, “Nightmare for England.” In that 2007 T20 World Cup fixture between India and England, Yuvraj had walloped six sixes in an over off Stuart Broad.

Invoking the memories of that game, one person commented, “Ask Stuart Broad.”

The official Instagram handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals even could not refrain from recalling the T20 World Cup 2007 match between India and England. “Need Six sixes in an over? Call him maybe,” read the reply posted by Delhi Capitals.

Another Instagram user responded, by saying, “Yuvraj Singh, a famous Indian all-rounder, won many prestigious tournaments/matches. He is the T20 World Cup ambassador to promote in the USA.”

One of the finest players ever to represent India, Yuvraj Singh has two World Cups to his name. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had announced Yuvraj as the T20 World Cup 2024 Ambassador. Yuvraj was named ambassador with 36 days to go for the T20 World Cup 2024 in celebration of his epic six sixes in one over against England.

Yuvraj Singh was part of the victorious Team India that had won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in South Africa back in 2007. He was a key member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad. Yuvraj’s epic all-round prowess helped him win the Player of the Tournament award in the 2011 World Cup.
