A man onboard a Delta Airlines flight recounted a rather peculiar incident involving another passenger in the first-class cabin who reportedly had a “poop accident” mid-flight. The individual shared this story on Reddit. The man in the post described how fellow passengers were taken aback by the situation and expected the crew to address it. However, he intervened and advised the staff against cleaning up human excrement.
“Was on a flight on Thursday where a passenger in FC had a poop accident that caused an incredibly foul odor throughout the cabin. Passengers wanted the FA to clean it up. I approached her and told her that it was not her job, and she was doing a great job under the circumstances,” the man wrote.
Furthermore, the man shared a photo of a note he claimed the grateful flight attendant gave him as he exited the aircraft. The note read: “I apologize that your first-class flight wasn’t as pleasant as it should always be. Thank you for your understanding. I sent you some miles. Thank you for being a million miler.”

The man claimed that following his flight, he contacted management and told them “What a great job she (a crew member) did in a stressful situation.”
Since being shared on June 1, the man’s post received a lot of attention from social media users. A user said, “Oh my God, I’d never fly again if I was that customer who had the accident”. Another commented, “I feel bad for the person with the poop accident. How humiliating!!!”
In April, a flight from Houston to Seattle was diverted to Dallas when a dog “pooped in the aisle” less than an hour after takeoff. A Reddit user shared a photo of the dog’s mess, which brought the event to light.
According to the Reddit user, a dog defecated inside the plane’s first-class cabin, emitting an overwhelming odour throughout the area. The personnel attempted to clean up the mess with paper towels, while first-class passengers tried to avoid the unpleasant smell.
