Sidhu Moosewala's Baby Brother Features On New York’s Time Square; Fans Say ‘Legend Is Back’
Sidhu Moosewala was the only child of his parents Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur.

There is no doubt that late rapper and songwriter Sidhu Moosewala has a very dedicated fandom, which is only growing after his death on May 29, 2022. Recently, Moosewala’s fans paid tribute to the late singer and celebrated the birth of his newborn brother. On March 17, Balkaur Singh, Sidhu Moosewala’s father, announced the birth of his son. Reportedly the baby was born via IVF treatment. The newborn is named Shubhdeep, after his late brother Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, who later adopted his stage name Sidhu Moosewala. Sidhu Moosewala was the only child of his parents Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur. He died at the age of 28.

The billboard at Times Square showed pictures of baby Shubhdeep alongside the younger photos of Moosewala when he was a baby in 1993. It also featured a photo of Moosewala with his father. A video of this Times Square tribute to Moosewala was shared on Instagram by Ludhiana Live, a popular Instagram account. The video was captioned, “Big moment for Sidhu Moose Wala: His dad and newborn baby’s photo shining bright in New York’s Time Square.” Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Singh is back.” Another wrote, “Born star …..Pride of Punjab.” A fan wrote, “Legends never die.”

It appears that this billboard presentation at Times Square was arranged via TSX Entertainment, an entertainment platform that offers 15-second screen time on Times Square billboards. Times Square in New York City is considered one of the most desirable and expensive spots for advertising.

March 17, Balkaur Singh shared a photo of the newborn on Instagram and wrote, “With the blessings of millions of souls who love Shubdeep, the Almighty has put Shubh’s younger brother in our bag. With the blessings of Waheguru, the family is healthy and thankful to all the well-wishers for their immense love.”

However, the newborn’s birth has run into controversy. As per reports, Charan Kaur is 58, while Balbir Singh is 60. In India, women can undergo Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services between the ages of 21 and 50, while men can take part in ART services when they are between the ages of 21 and 55. The centre wrote to the Punjab government inquiring about how Kaur underwent IVF treatment at the age of 58, when the legally permissible age cut-off is 50.
