The story of the ‘alien mummies’ has taken a new turn. A study has now claimed that these are centuries old and have “Earthly origins”. Farmers found several strange corpses with three fingers and three toes in a cave in Nazca, Peru and since then their validity has been a subject of debate. The objects were reportedly found by farmers in 2017 and were brought to the attention of researchers. A group of researchers from the scientific institute St Aloysius Gonzaga National University in Ica, Peru, say that the specimens are similar to humans.
The research now suggests that ‘alien mummies’ are biological creatures. In January, forensic experts from Peru’s prosecutor’s office said that the objects found in the Nazca region were made of paper, glue, metal and human and animal bones. The objects found by farmers reported to researchers that they have unusual features, including elongated skulls and three-fingered hands, sparking speculation and debate about their origins and authenticity.
Forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada, who led the analysis earlier this year, said, “The conclusion is simple, they are dolls assembled with modern synthetic glue from the bones of animals from this planet, so they were not made during pre-Hispanic times. They are not extraterrestrial, they are not aliens.”
The group of researchers at the St. Aloysius Gonzaga National University in Ica, say that the creatures do not have eyes and their heads are much larger than humans are about 1,700 years old. The result of the study states, “Tomographic imaging analysis has shown that the specimen is a human-like body whose biological structures are similar to humans, but there are many differences such as lack of hair and ears, elongated skull and enlarged cranium which was found to be 30% larger than humans.” Apart from this, some special differences have also been found.
If confirmed as a new human species, the discovery could have profound implications for biology, science and socio-cultural history. The study said that its results disrupt sensitive issues of society that have been considered immutable truths for centuries. Now, it remains to be seen how the scientific world reacts to these claims.
