Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath recently shared a nostalgic moment on social media, reminiscing about his time working at a call centre. Alongside some throwback photos with his colleagues, he humorously reflected on the irony of the past experiences. Nithin humorously pointed out how, during his telemarketing days, he made “unsolicited” calls to people in the US, only to now keep his phone on silent mode due to telemarketing calls he receives.

“My phone has become unusable due to telemarketing and is always silent. Guess what goes around comes around. I spent four years at a call centre, making unsolicited calls to people in the US. I guess Karma has a way of biting back,” he quipped in his post on X (formerly Twitter).

Sometimes I just listen to the person so it helps increase their on-call time, as I know how that has an impact on their performance. Also, Companies should at least half of this investment on Customer service instead of customer acquisition!”

“9/10 calls are spam and selling unwanted stuff. Voice calls will be dead and data only will win. matter of time,” a comment read.

“Those are the pictures of golden old days of call centre. EXL and others were expanding. Students would flock to these places for walk in. Simply wow,” a person reminisced.

“It’s heartwarming and uplifting to see a man in vintage photos with his old friends or former colleagues who have achieved great success in life. Congratulations, Nithin! Everything seems predetermined, and you’ll eventually reach your destination, but the path remains unknown,” one user remarked.

Nithin recently made a public appearance after a hiatus of over two months, disclosing that he had experienced a minor stroke. Making an appearance at Zero1 Fest, the entrepreneur addressed the audience on the topics of well-being and wealth.

“Slowly getting back to normal. At the Zero1 fest, talking about health and wealth with @nasdaily, JC @FITTRwithsquats, and @twitellectual (sic),” he shared on X, alongside pictures from the event.
