It is unclear if all of the dry fruits were reused or thrown away after using them in jewellery.

People are going to great lengths these days to get a unique look for special occasions. In a bid to do something different, a woman decided to wear jewellery made of dry fruits. Now, a video of this ‘dry fruits jewellery’ is creating a buzz on Instagram. In the video, the woman wears a whole set of jewellery comprising rings, maang tikka, bangles, earrings, and kamarband that is made of dry fruits. The jewellery is made by pasting together almonds, cashews, and pistachios using glue and attaching them with pearl beads. It is unclear if all of the dry fruits were reused or thrown away after using them in jewellery.

This clip has gathered over one lakh likes since it was posted on January 21. However, not all people were impressed with this unusual use of dry fruits. Many people deemed this innovation as “wastage of food". Commenting on the video, an X user wrote, “Why people are still celebrating function by wasting food?" Another person joked, “she looks like a dry fruits shop."

This is not the only video that shows people using eatables as accessories. Last January, a similar video went viral that showed a woman making hair accessories and jewellery with chocolates and toffees of popular brands such as 5 Star, Milkybar, KitKat, and Ferrero Rocher. The make-up artists also incorporated Mango Bite toffees to make earrings that complimented the woman’s yellow attire. This video also went viral with over six lakh likes.

Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “We used to do such things in our childhood while playing at home, still we made flowers out of leaves. But didn’t do this." Another person offered a more generous perspective and wrote, “Guys, it’s someone’s creativity and talent so we should appreciate it not to criticise."

However, not all outfits made out of eatables receive negative reactions. Last year, Natasha Coline Kim Fah Lee Fokas, a cake maker from Switzerland, earned the Guinness World record for making the ‘largest wearable cake dress (supported)’.

Natasha created a white cake dress that weighed 131.15 kilograms. It was unveiled at the Swiss World Wedding Fair on January 15, 2023. The cake dress was later cut into portions and served to guests who visited the fair. This special cake dress was fitted with wheels at the bottom to make sure that its weight is evenly distributed and the model can easily walk with the delicate dress.
