A drunk football hooligan caused a huge commotion inside a flight flying from the UK to Turkey this weekend when he got into a brawl with fellow passengers aboard, forcing the airline staff to call the cops.

The video of the man’s aggressive behaviour and fight with fellow passengers and staff went viral. In the video, a little girl, travelling with her mother, is captured visibly scared and looking for safety as the man went on hurling abuses and raining punches at fellow passengers and staff.
The passenger who was wearing a green and white striped Celtic Football Club shirt was seen wildly throwing punches at flight attendants as they tried to calm him after the flight landed. He was heard shouting, “You’re a f—ing f—y” while pointing at another passenger, according to reports by the New York Post and the Daily Record.
The report said that the man was disrupting passengers throughout the flights, as soon as it took off from Edinburgh.
“Before it all kicked off, an air hostess had to hold him down for a good 20 minutes. There was a cheer at the front of the plane when someone found out the result of the Celtic match. Another boy told the guy that he was a disgrace to the [Celtic jersey], and that’s when he just lost it,” a witness was quoted as saying by the Daily Record.
Celtic recently played Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup and advanced to the final.
Hooliganism and football ultras culture, where some supporters go to great lengths to support their respective teams, is prevalent across Europe and in many nations across the globe where football is religiously followed.
But some of these sets of fans, who make their respective football clubs a part of their identity, have also found themselves caught in controversies for acts of racism, public property destruction, attacking football players of the very team they support and fighting with rival ultras.
The passenger, a football hooligan, himself also was drunk as crew members also found an empty 24-ounce bottle of vodka.
The man caused visible anxiety to fellow passengers and the little girl was seen seeking comfort in her mother’s lap.
The man was seen in another video where he is chanting some football song as he is being dragged away in handcuffs, with scratches to his face.
A spokesperson for Easyjet confirmed the fight and said police were called inside the flight to take the disruptive passenger away. “EasyJet’s crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of passengers is not compromised at any time. Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour,” the airline’s spokesperson said.
