The Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson continues to deliver in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League as he scored yet another half-century to continue his season’s best tally so far. Despite the top-order struggling in the run chase of 222 against DC, the skipper took charge yet again to put the Royals in contention of getting the win.

During this knock, Sanju also created history by joining an elite list of batters to take part in the IPL and smash 200 sixes in the tournament.
The former Indian fast-bowler, Irfan Pathan gave praise to the wicketkeeper-batter for having arguably one of the best seasons of his IPL career leading the title-contenders Rajasthan Royals.
A season to remember for Sanju Samson. Consistency of the highest level — Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) May 7, 2024
The RR skipper has been outstanding with both the bat as well as the leader of the Royals who are well in contention for a potential title having led the points table for the majority of the 2024 season which in turn led to him earning a much-deserved call up to India’s T20 World Cup squad.
Hopefully, this knock seals Samson’s place in the starting XI (if he wasn’t a certainty yet).— Sparsh Telang (@_cricketsparsh) May 7, 2024
Following his knock against DC, Sanju is certainly making the selectors and Rohit Sharma’s life difficult to make a clear call on who would be India’s wicketkeeper for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

It certainly is great news for the Indian team to see Sanju firing on all cylinders. It was Suryakumar Yadav yesterday and now it is Sanju Samson who is peaking at the right time.
However, Sanju who looked to be in line for a century fell short as Mukesh Kumar got his wicket with Shai Hope taking the catch by the boundary ropes at long-on. Replays seemed to show that he was close to the ropes but did not have contact which shattered the hearts of the Indian cricket fans.
