Krunal Pandya has shared a heartfelt message for Dinesh Karthik, who recently played the final match of his IPL career.
Karthik seem to bid an emotional farewell after his team Royal Challengers Bengaluru fell victim to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator clash of IPL 2024.
After RCB lost the playoff game in Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli was spotted consoling a teary-eyed Karthik on the field.
Several other cricketers took to social media to pay an ode to the 38-year-old wicketkeeper-batter.
Now, allrounder Krunal Pandya has paid his tributes.
Krunal, who represents Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, played one league game against Karthik’s RCB this season. The duo undoubtedly shares a good bond as they were seen hugging each other ahead of the game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Pandya posted a pic with Karthik and wrote, “A true champion. Congratulations on a remarkable career my brother, Dinesh Karthik.”
Karthik is one of the few cricketers, who has been part of the IPL since the inaugural 2008 edition. He made his debut in the T20 competition with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) before playing two seasons for Mumbai Indians and winning the title with them in 2013.
Karthik joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2012 IPL after parting ways with Kolkata Knight Riders. He soon became a core member of the Bengaluru-based franchise.
During his IPL career, Karthik has featured in 257 matches as part of different franchises. He has scored 4842 runs at a average of 26.32. He has struck 22 half-centuries, with his best score being an unbeaten 97.
