India announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday with Rohit Sharma named as the captain as the team will look to claim their second T20 World Cup title after the 2007 win. Eight players from the 2022 edition where India lost to England in the semi-final retained their places in the current squad, while the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube will get their first taste of the World Cup. Virat Kohli is set to feature in his eighth T20 World Cup while this will be Rohit’s ninth having been part of India’s World Cup-winning squad in 2007.

India will begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 05, 2024, at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, followed by the marquee clash against Pakistan on June 09, 2024 at the same venue. India will then play the USA and Canada on June 12 and 15 respectively.
