The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) will be conducting the Class 10 (HSLC) exams for the academic year 2023-2024 from tomorrow, February 16 to March 4, 2024. The exams will be conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper mode (offline mode) in two shifts. The first shift exams will be held for most subjects from 9 am to 12 pm, while a few subjects will have exams scheduled from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
This year, a total of 2,80,216 students across 876 centres are expected to appear for the Class 10 exams, as announced by the state education minister Ranoj Pegu through his official “X” account.
The admit cards for the SEBA Class 10 exams were released by the board and have been dispatched to the respective zones. The schools are responsible for distributing the admit cards to the students. The admit card contains crucial information such as the student’s roll number, exam name and code, registration number, exam centre, and other pertinent details. It is mandatory for students to carry their admit cards to the examination hall, as no candidate will be allowed to write the exams without them.
Assam Board Class 10: Exam Day Guidelines
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exams, SEBA has issued certain guidelines for the students. Students are required to arrive at the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. An additional 5-minute period will be given before the start of the exam for students to review the question papers.
During the examination, students are permitted to use only blue or black ink pens. The use of pens with other coloured inks is strictly prohibited. Any student found engaging in unethical practices during the exam will be disqualified.
Electronic devices, including calculators and cell phones, are strictly prohibited in the examination room.
In the previous academic year, a total of 4,15,324 students appeared for the Class 10 exams, out of which 3,01,880 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 72.69 per cent.
