Chaudhary Charan Singh University Starts Psychology Of Relationships Course For UG Students
Head Professor Sanjay Kumar, said that the Psychology of Relationship course was started after witnessing the lack of understanding of relationships among the young generation.

To combat the increasing discord in relationships, the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut has taken the initiative to teach the nuances of relationships to the new generation. A value-added course, Psychology Of Relationships, has been added under BA, B.Com, and BSc Honors in the Psychology department starting in the university campus from the ongoing session.

In this course, the students will be taught and explained the importance of relationships. Along with the study of relationships, emotional regulation and positive relationships, the students will also learn methods to reduce discord and conflict in relationships.

While talking exclusively to Local18, Head Prof. Sanjay Kumar, said that the Psychology of Relationships, a value-added course, was started after witnessing the lack of understanding of relationships among the young generation. “Even during counselling, we see that small disputes become very serious. Keeping these things in mind, the Psychology of Relationship course has been started in Psychology. So that the importance of relationships can be explained to the youth,” said Sanjay Kumar.

He said that this course will teach about relationships psychologically and how to save them with better coordination even in adverse circumstances. The students will also develop skills useful in various applied fields of psychology such as health psychology, counselling psychology, clinical psychology and organizational psychology related to the workplace.

According to Professor Kumar, with the new education policy, various types of courses have been started to teach the youth a lot as value-added courses. In such a situation, all BA, B.Com and B.Sc students studying on the university campus will be able to do this course as a value-added course. No fee has been fixed for this. In the first semester of the BA course, the students will study Introduction to Psychology, Application of Psychology in Everyday Life and Basic Research and Statistics. Along with this, they will be taught about the problems in normal life like emotions, maintaining good health etc.

In the second semester, the students will be taught CyberPsychology. In this, students will study the causes and solutions of mental and behavioural problems arising from the internet and smartphones.
