Saurav Kumar, a student hailing from Palamu district (Jharkhand), proves the phrase ‘Work hard in silence, let success make the noise’ right. Recently, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) announced the results of the Intermediate aka class 12th examinations. Saurav, a scholar from the Commerce Faculty at Manav Devi Dedicated Inter College, secured the highest position in the district. He scored 454 marks. He acknowledges his mother’s support as the key factor behind his success. The 18-year-old resides in Medininagar, Prabhadevi. Speaking to Local18, Saurav revealed that his father passed away from a heart attack four years ago, which increased financial turmoil in his life. His mother spared no effort in educating him by enrolling him in an NGO. Reflecting on his achievement, Saurav expressed he felt overwhelming upon learning that he ranked first in the entire district with Commerce. Saurav Kumar shared that both he and his mother were immensely delighted with the news.
Saurav also expressed his aspiration to become a Chartered Accountant (CA). He credited his college principal as the second reason behind his success. Saurav shared she consistently motivated him and pushed him to excel. He recounted instances where she provided personal guidance during stressful times. Looking ahead, Saurav is preparing for the first CA examination scheduled for June.
Saurav stressed the importance of self-study, noting it as the key to success. He revealed that he spent considerable time studying at home, completing assignments from both college and tuition classes. Saurav dedicated 8 to 10 hours daily to his studies. He also highlighted the challenge of distractions and suggested prioritising studies. Saurav urged students to believe in themselves and study thoroughly.
“Teachers often recognise children’s talent,” said Saurav Kumar’s college principal, Shweta. She stressed the significance of identifying students’ potential, using Saurav as a prime example. Shweta acknowledged the hurdles students encounter in their academic path and emphasised teachers’ vital role in offering encouragement and assistance. At the Dedicated Academy, students benefit from individualised attention and regular practice of model questions. The study materials provided are tailored exceeding standard curriculum levels to equip students for the competitive exams.
