Mohit Raina on Life After Daughter's Birth: 'I Constantly Video Call Home To…' | Exclusive
Mohit Raina speaks about how he begins and ends his day by looking at his daughter's face. He also talks about keeping his personal life hidden from the world.

Mohit Raina has almost always kept his personal life away from the public glare. In January last year, he surprised his fans after he posted a picture of his hush-hush wedding that took place a month before. And in March this year, he announced the arrival of his daughter. Despite the constant scrutiny surrounding an actor’s life, Mohit managed to keep the news of his wife’s pregnancy under the radar.

Now in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Mohit reveals that a lot has changed in him after his little bundle of joy came into his life. Prod him further and he says, “I can relate more with what fatherhood really means now. I now understand the extent to which a father can go to safeguard their children. My day starts and ends by looking at her face. It’s a beautiful feeling.”

Mohit also shares that he tries to be a hands-on father and not a day goes where he doesn’t video call to see his daughter when he’s at work. “All of our parents have shared that feeling at one point of time. My parents always told me that I would understand what parents’ love truly is after I become a parent. I’m going through that phase where I’ve come to understand it fully. I constantly video call home to see my daughter’s face,” he says with a smile.

But how does he manage to keep his private life sacrosanct despite being a public figure? “When I decided to be an actor, I wasn’t really aware of the other side of it. As a public figure, I feel that there’s very less than I can hold on to. That part of me is very personal and private to me,” explains the actor, who was recently seen in the second season of Mumbai Diaries.

The Kaafir and The Freelancer actor further adds, “It’s not like if I put that side out, it will lose its sanctity and importance. But I want to protect it as much as I can and keep it away from the limelight because it’s very close to my heart. I’ve a very small circle and they also like the fact that I keep them away from the media glare,”

However, this thought of keeping his personal life away from social media and his fans is something that he had decided on right since the very beginning of his career. Speaking about how that’s also the reason why he has steered clear of reality shows unlike a lot of his contemporaries, Mohit remarks, “I started my career in TV. Back in those days, we would have a lot of these Fathers’ Day and Mothers’ Day special episodes on reality shows. I would keep getting offers to get my parents, brother and sister to those episodes. But I never did that. In fact, I’ve never even done a reality show solely because I wanted to keep my personal and professional life separate.”
