Manchester: Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo have been linked to a sensational 90million pound swap deal between Manchester United and Real Madrid, according to reports in the Daily Star. New United boss David Moyes is planning to meet his former Everton player this week for heart-to-heart talks about his future.
Moyes would love Rooney to stay at Old Trafford and offer him the chance to start afresh after his much publicised fall out with former United chief Sir Alex Ferguson. But if Rooney, 27, decides to call it a day there will be no shortage of takers for the England striker.
Real have been long-time admirers of Rooney and would be happy to sacrifice Ronaldo if it meant they could sign the United star. Ronaldo would cost 60 million pounds and his return to the club where he made his name would delight the faithful.
It would also soften the blow of losing such an icon as Rooney, who has two years left on his current United deal.
