Timothee Chalamet Signs Deal With Warner Bros Following Dune And Wonka Success: Report
Over the past three years, Timothee Chalamet said working on Wonka and Dune with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy and their crews has been a fulfilling experience.

Timothee Chalamet has scored back-to-back box office successes for Warner Bros. With the success of last December’s Wonka ($632 million worldwide) and this March’s Dune: Part Two ($575 million worldwide and counting), the studio is investing more in Chalamet’s business. The two have secured a multi-year first-look film deal that will see them work together on future projects as with Chalamet both as a star and producer.

Motion picture group co-chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy said in a statement, “Over the last few years, we have admired not only Timothée’s commitment to his craft, which is evident in the range and depth of his varied roles but also his unwavering dedication to give 100 per cent of his time and attention to every project he has made here at Warner Bros. and elsewhere.”

Chalamet is the first actor in more than 40 years to have the top two domestic-grossing films released in a span of eight months, according to a press statement from Warner Bros.

In case you are not aware, a ‘first look deal’ means that a studio has the first chance to say yes or no to projects from someone they work with. In simpler terms, it’s like calling dibs.

This just indicates that Chalamet’s involvement with Warner Bros. will increase, especially because Chalamet is covered by the deal as both an actor and a producer.

Following his box office success, Chalamet’s earnings will also increase. According to Variety, the actor made almost $8 million for Wonka. He may now expect to make double digits from prominent parts in studio pictures.

Over the past three years, Chalamet said, working on Wonka and Dune with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy and their crews has been a really fulfilling experience.

He expressed his gratitude to them as an actor, producer and collaborator, saying that they are studio executives who value creating quality films.

He went on to say that this relationship seemed like a logical next step.

Early in his career, Chalamet landed a number of noteworthy parts, such as that of Matthew McConaughey’s son in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

But it was 2017’s Call Me by Your Name—which won him an Oscar nomination—that saw him really take off.
