New Delhi: Two people have been found dead at a Delhi Metro construction site in Nangloi.
While the Fire Department claims they died when a dumper accidentally dumped construction material over them, the Delhi Metro has denied this.
It has claimed that the bodies were found at the site and that they have now been handed over to the police.
The incident comes just one month after one person was killed and 9 injured after a section of an under-construction Metro flyover collapsed in Delhi's Shakarpur area.
On November 1 also, a three-year-old girl was badly hurt when a heavy iron rod from a Metro construction site in south Delhi fell on her head.
Meanwhile, the Chief PRO of Delhi Metro, Anuj Dayal, has rubbished all allegations of negligence on the part of the Delhi Metro.
He says the deceased had nothing to do with construction work at the site.
Dayal says, “This is not an accident. There's a central median under the metro bridge. This is for greenery. There's mud to be deposited here. Mud is brought by tractors, not dumpers. The people who died are not workers or employees.”
