CHENNAI: In the latest round of promotions and transfers announced on Sunday by the State government, a total of 27 officials have been transferred, with most of them promoted. A press release said P Sakthivelu, DIG, Vellore, has been posted as IGP, Tamil Nadu Police Academy, whereas T P Sundaramoorthy, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore, has been posted as IGP, West Zone, Coimbatore, in the existing vacancy. He would be replaced by A K Viswanathan, CVO, TNPL. The release said P Kannappan, Commissioner of Police, Madurai, was transferred and posted as IGP, North Zone, and Sunil Kumar, IGP, Modernisation, as member-secretary, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board. R Dhinakaran, SP, Railways, was promoted and posted as DIG, Railways, in the existing vacancy; Avi Prakash, SP, and Vidya D Kulkarni, SP, on deputation with the IB, as DIGs; A Arun, Commandant, T N Special Police, XV Battalion, Veerapuram, as DIG, Headquarters; D Kalpana Nayak, on inter-cadre deputation in Andhra Pradesh, as DIG; MT Ganesamoorthy, SP-II, Crime Branch-CID, posted as DIG, Vellore; C Chandrasekar, SP and Vigilance Officer, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd, as DIG and CVO, in the same organisation. N Arivuselvan, DCP, Headquarters, Madurai, was promoted and posted as DIG, Dindigul; C Easwaramoorthy, SP, on deputation with CBI, as DIG; and K Shanmugavel, SP, Tamil Nadu Commando Force, as DIG, Villupuram, in the existing vacancy, the release issued by the Principal Secretary said.
