JEYPORE: The State Police have arrested 31 Maoist supporters during a combing operation in Almonda forest bordering Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.In the wake of the ongoing PLGA week, police have been carrying out massive combing operation in Narayanpatna and Bandhugam blocks near Andhra Pradesh border for the last few days. The arrests were made from Bargi and Langalabeda areas that are considered the hot-bed of Red ultras in Koraput. Police also found Maoist posters and banners from their possession. They were later taken to neighbouring Parvatipuram police station for interrogation. In the wee hours of Friday, Maoists set afire two mobile towers in Mathpada and Kaliatala in Boipariguda to mark the beginning of PLGA Week. Vehicular traffic was disrupted for the second day on Saturday.
