4-year-old dies as RTC bus door hits her head

SANGAREDDY: A four-yearold girl died instantly after her head was hit by the door of an RTC bus at Konapur bus station in Ramayampet mandal on Thursday.The victim, Mamatha, and her grandmother, Lachhavva, belonging to Ensanapalli in Siddipet mandal, were travelling in an RTC bus to Ramayampet to catch another bus to Isanapalli in Nizamabad district. However, Lachhavva decided to get off the bus at Konapur and take an auto to Isanapalli village.When the bus halted at Konapur, Lachhavva, carrying Mamatha on her waist tried to get down the vehicle.Even before she could do that, the bus began to move and the door swung hitting Mamatha’s head and then Lachhavva’s hand hard. Grieved with pain, Lachhavva lost grip of Mamatha and she fell on the ground.Soon, other passengers in the bus tried to bring back Mamtha to senses but could not. On information, police rushed to the spot and declared that the girl was dead. Police said that the door banged Mamatha’s head hard leading to her death. Ramayampet police registered a case and shifted the girl’s body to the hospital for autopsy.
