SABARIMALA: The Lord Ayyappa temple will be kept open till 1.30 a.m. on January 15 for the conduct of the auspicious Makarasamkrama pooja at 12.59 a.m. instead of the usual closure timing of 11.45 p.m. on January 14. The temple will reopen at 4 a.m. on January 15 as against the usual opening timing of 3 a.m. The darsan for the pilgrims will be available up to 1 p.m. The pilgrims will be allowed to climb the Holy Steps for darsan at 7 p.m. only owing to the reception to the Thiruvabharanam procession and for the Makaravilakku pooja after adorning the Thiruvabharanam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa. For the ensuring the smooth Thiruvabharanam procession to Sannidhanam, pilgrims will not be allowed on the trekking path from Pampa from 7 a.m. on January 15. The pilgrims will be allowed to climb the trekking path from Pampa after the passage of Thiruvabharanm at 5 p.m.
