Bail pleas of accused dismissed

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday dismissed the bail pleas of the five accused in the Kottayam Noyal murder case. Sudheer and Shaji of Vadakkemuri, Mathew of Vadayar, Shahul Hameed of Naduvil and Majeed of Kottayam are the accused.According to the prosecution, Noble’s bus, while reversing from a petrol pump at Vaikom, had hit the bike of Abdul Asis, resulting in an altercation between them.Later, sons of Asis, along with the other accused, chased Noble and his brother Noyal.In an attempt to escape from the attackers, they jumped into the river.However, the accused allegedly pelted stones at them.Noyal drowned in the river while Noble managed to escape.The court observed that the prosecution could prove the gruesome attack committed by the accused.
