Bangalore: Rs 1 crore for Mayor's bungalow work

Bangalore: The cash-strapped BBMP is constructing a ‘Mayor’s bungalow’. However, the Mayor claims it will be used for only ‘official purposes’. According to Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy, BBMP has a vacant site of 60x100 sq ft at Gandhinagar.

“This land was under litigation for many years. Now, the court has given judgment in our favour. We should protect it before someone encroaches it. Therefore, to protect this piece of land, we have decided to construct Mayor’s bungalow there,” he said.

“We have just kept aside Rs 1 crore for the purpose and even the Council has approved it. There will be a mega conference hall, mini conference hall and also guest rooms,” he added.
