Benny calls for creating more IT jobs

KOCHI: There should be concerted efforts to generate more employment opportunities in the IT sector, Benny Behanan MLA said, while inaugurating the training programme and recruitment drive under Rural BPL Employment Programme of the Union Ministry of Rural Development on Friday.“The development in education and science sectors has caused contradiction in employment sector. IT sector should be given more importance,” he said.  Around 800 people have been trained under the project, of which 645 were placed in various organisations. The candidates are given 12-day training. District panchayat president Eldose Kunnapally, Thrikkakara municipal chairman P I Mohammadali, zonal officer M I Ravi and programme coordinator Benny Mathew spoke.
