The Congress in Madhya Pradesh is organising a rally on Sunday at Nasrullahganj, part of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Assembly segment, as the main Opposition party gears up to take on BJP ahead of the polls.

Nasrullahganj, in the neighbouring Sehore district, is part of the Budhni Assembly constituency from where Chouhan was elected in 2008.

The rally comes a few months before the Assembly elections and Congress leaders are expected to target Chouhan, who has led BJP to two successive win at the hustings.

In a show of unity, almost all senior Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh would be addressing the public meeting. These include Digvijay Singh, Union Ministers Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, State Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria and Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh.

The Congress has been claiming that illegal mining of sand from the Narmada river is going on in Nasrullahganj and its leaders are expected to highlight this issue.
