BELLARY: BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda and former CM BS Yeddyurappa would participate in the mass marriage organised by B Sreeramulu and the Reddy brothers in Bellary on August 12, according to a release.The mass marriages are being organised here since 1999 and more than 4,000 couples have entered wedlock. This year 220 couples would tie the knot.The venue at BDAA grounds is decorated for the big event. Sources in the Reddy camp said Sushma Swaraj, leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, would skip the programme in view of the strained relations with the Reddys. Banners of Gadkari, chief minister and former chief minister have been erected in various parts of the city.The dignitaries would offer puja at Shri Kanaka Durgamma temple and participate in bhumi puja for a four-lane road to the airport.
