HYDERABAD: An assistant executive engineer of the RWS Department has approached the AP High Court with a petition to quash the recent order (dated April 23) of the AP Administrative Tribunal upholding the state government’s decision to repatriate thousands of employees of different cadres under GO Ms No 610.The tribunal had held that GO 610 (dated December 13, 1985) and GO 674 (dated September 7, 2007) and the consequential repatriation orders passed by the government are not violative of any of the provisions of the Presidential Order. It dismissed petitions filed by employees of various departments challenging their transfers/repatriation from Telangana and Hyderabad to their native zones.Petitioner P Gnanodaya Alexis of Prakasam district, posted in Anumala mandal in Nalgonda district after being appointed in the non-local quota in 1998, asked the High Court to direct the state government to keep him in Zone VI in Nalgonda by suspending operation of the tribunal’s order.Alexis, in his petition, claimed he was selected to the post in Zone VI (Nalgonda district) against the vacancies in the open category. However, the government reviewed his appointment on grounds that it was in violation of local quota as prescribed under the Presidential Order and accordingly repatriated him from Nalgonda to Prakasam district. Orders of transfer/repatriations were allegedly issued on the strength of GOs 610 and 674.
