Government official caught taking bribe

HYDERABAD:  Sowmyanandaiah, a senior accountant in the sub-treasury office at Badvel in Kadapa district was caught red handed on the office premises by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials when he accepted a bribe amount of Rs. 8,000.  In a statement on Wednesday, ACB officials said that they caught  Sowmyanandaiah when he was taking a bribe of `8,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour of processing the automatic advancement scheme pay fixation arrears bill of the complainant.  The tainted amount of `8,000 has been recovered and relevant records too have been seized. The accused Sowmyanandaiah was produced before the ACB court in Nellore.Further investigation is in progress.
