Govt should not interfere in the work of probe agencies: Ashok Gehlot

Suggesting that political parties should trust judiciary, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday said the government never interferes in any probe either by police or any investigating agency including the CBI.

"As Chief Minister I shall not comment on sub-judice matters...I believe we should not interfere in any investigation whether it is by the police or CBI...No one has legal right to interfere...whether he is any minister, home minister or Chief Minister," Gehlot told reporters at the PCC office in Jaipur.

"Political parties trying to maintain its image in public, attempts to defame the government...make unnecessary allegations over probe agencies," he said in an indirect reference to Opposition BJP.

"We do not interfere...despite that, they make false allegations...it is sinful to implicate anyone," he said. Hailing the anti-corruption bureau's ongoing raids on bureaucracy, Gehlot said "The Rajasthan Special Courts Act, 2012 passed by the Assembly has been finally approved by the President and would be enacted soon.

The Act would facilitate the government to confiscate and attach any disproportionate property amassed by corrupt public servants".
