Headmaster gets 3-year jail term

BHUBANESWAR: In-charge headmaster of Jhariguda Project UP School in Nabarangpur district was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment for misappropriation of government fund.  The accused, identified as Biranchi Narayan Mohanty, was responsible for handling the money allotted for construction of the school building and purchase of materials in 2007-08. He allegedly misused the fund money amounting to ` 3,68,000 received from DPEP/SSA. The Special Judge (Vigilance), Jeypore, found him guilty of the crime. A fine of ` 50,000 has also been imposed.
