Gurgaon: There was massive water-logging in Gurgaon on Friday as heavy rainfall and thundershowers over the night caused rainwater to accumulate in several areas.
Administrator Anita Yadav on Friday afternoon met a group of people from Gurgaon Sector 28 and discussed the plight of residents. The officials have said that they have sent a proposal to Haryana government to come out with a long term solution for the problems faced by Gurgaon residents.
They have also assured the residents that work would begin as soon as they get a green signal from the government.
"We have to fix the drains and sanitation system, we are waiting for the proposals and official procedure to follow. We can not do anything during monsoons, work will start in November and they won't have any trouble next year. Level of the ground has to be flat. So we need to fix this so that water doesnt go into one area and stagnate there," officials said.
Accepting Haryana government's failure to solve the issue, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, "There are many pending problems in Gurgaon for which planning was not done earlier, in those cases we are facing constant difficulties and to solve those issues we are formulating new strategies. We will be shortly setting this right.
