Kerosene shortage fuels road roko

VELLORE: Residents of Bhuvaneshwaripettai in Gudiyattam held a road roko at Katpadi road, on Thursday, fearing cancellation of kerosene supply after a power cut. As of now, a token system is being followed to supply kerosene to public. Accordingly, residents of Bhuvaneshwaripettai were distributed tokens to receive kerosene on Thursday at Karpagam kerosene bunk and the supply began in the morning. However, it is learnt that due to a  power cut in the afternoon, kerosene could not be supplied to the public. Fearing that the supply might not resume, the residents who were waiting in the queue since early morning, held a road roko at Katpadi Road. Following this, town police visited the spot and pacified the agitators.
