Kidnapped accountant dumped near Lalbagh

BANGALORE: A 52-year-old accountant of a private company, allegedly abducted by four miscreants at the behest of a female colleague over an affair,  was found abandoned in the city on Thursday evening. The victim has been identified as R Patil working at a private company which manufactures tools and machinery.The incident occurred when he was returning home after completing work on Mission Road. According to the police, the four miscreants abducted him in an autorickshaw for ransom expecting that he might be carrying money.They beat him black and blue when they found that he had no money. “They snatched his ATM card and bag before bundling him out of the auto near Lalbagh,” the police explained.A watchman of a nearby building who noticed the abandoned victim informed about this to his company. The staffers of the company informed the incident to the SJ Park police.According to the police, it was a pre-planned kidnap case. A female colleague is the mastermind of the drama and may be a tale of  ‘love gone awry’, the police said.“We first thought that this was a case of a simple robbery. But after investigations, we found that this is a love affair and a female colleague of the victim planned this kidnap,” said a higher police officer, said.The woman has been taken into custody and the four miscreants are still at large, he explained.Siddapur police  have registered a case in this regard and further investigations are on.
