New Delhi: It's D-day for lakhs of IIT aspirants all across India. The IIT-Joint Entrance Exam will be held on Sunday and 5.6 Lakh candidates are expected to take the exams for admission to 9,618 IIT seats.
The candidates are vying for nearly 10,000 seats across the country in 15 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University, and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
This year more number of students have been accommodated for IIT-JEE. A total of 525 IIT-K staff members have been sent to the 158 centres spread across 12 cities for holding the JEE smoothly on Sunday.
Tight security arrangements have been made for conducting free and fair examinations. The number of invigilators in a room will vary according to the strength of the students.
The students will not be allowed to carry electronic gadgets like mobile phones and calculators inside the examination hall.
