Mumbai imam held for terror links

Mumbai: Mumbai police have arrested the imam of the Haj House Masjid on charges of preparing for a terrorist attack in the city.

Official sources said the imam was arrested on Friday night by the anti-terrorism squad of Mumbai police.

Police claim the imam was a key link for some Lashkar-e-Toiba militants and that the rebels may have been planning some kind of terrorist activities throughout the city.

Two weeks back, Mumbai police had made three arrests and recovered some explosives.

Police now claim that the imam was part of the same group of the three people arrested earlier.
