HYDERABAD: Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said if the TDP was voted to power, it would ensure fair price for agricultural produce. If farmers incurred loss, the TDP regime would waive their crop loans, he said.
Participating in Rythu Porubata at Kalwakurthy in Mahabubnagar district, Naidu blamed the Congress regime for the sufferings of farmers. The cost of seeds, fertilisers and pesticides rose steeply in the Congress rule, increasing cultivation costs. Due to lack of support price for agricultural produce, farmers are incurring loss, he said. The Telugu Desam chief said he would raise farmers' issues at the national level and see that agriculture becomes profitable. Earlier at his residence in Hyderabad, Naidu admitted former Visakhapatnam legislator P Ganababu into the TDP. Speaking on the occasion, Naidu alleged that the YSR Congress was trying malign his image by slinging mud at him. In all, 26 inquiry commissions set up by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, could not prove a single allegation against him, Naidu claimed.
