New Delhi: The next Android smartphone from Motorola Mobility, due to be unveiled next week at an event on September 5 in New York, will feature an edge-to-edge screen, as reported by Bloomberg. The phone is expected to go on sale with Verizon Wireless later this year.
"The model also would be one of the first full-screen phones in the US, meaning it uses the entire front of the device as a display. The approach maximizes the screen viewing space by eliminating the black frames or bezels around the display," mentioned Bloomberg in its report, adding, "This phone would be the most high-profile product debut for Motorola Mobility since the company was purchased by Google for about $12.5 billion.
Motorola Mobility is endeavouring to add rich features to its new phone so as to give a tough competition to its rivals including Apple, Samsung And Nokia.
Apple is preparing to introduce the next-generation iPhone at an as yet unannounced event on September 12. Also, Nokia is planning to take the wraps off its first phones running Microsoft's Windows 8 on September 5.
