Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court had granted bail to Bitty Mohanty alias Raghav Rajan in the case of impersonation and forgery that was registered at Payyanur. But Mohanty will not be released from jail as the Jaipur court had issued a production warrant in a case where he was convicted for rape and had jumped parole.
The officials at the Kannur special sub jail where he was lodged said that he will be taken to Jaipur on Thursday or Friday as soon as the arrangements for inter state escorts are made.
Bitty Mohanty was convicted by a Jaipur court for a raping German woman in early 2006. After serving his jail term for sometime, he went home on parole and disappeared.
He was found at Payyanur in Kerala. He was working at the State Bank of Travancore as an officer under a false identity. He has always maintained that he is Raghav Rajan and not Bitty Mohanty.
Mohanty is the son of retired Orissa DGP BB Mohanty.
