CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered notice to the DMK treasurer M K Stalin on a petition challenging his victory in the Assembly polls from Kolathur. When a petition filed by the losing candidate Saidai S Duraisamy of AIADMK came up for hearing, Justice K Venkataraman issued a notice to Stalin returnable in four weeks time. Duraisamy alleged that Stalin abused his position as the Deputy CM and misused the official machinery during the polls.The judge also issued similar notices to former DMK minister E V Velu, whose election from Tiruvannamalai had been challenged by his AIADMK rival S Ramachandran, and to G Anbazhagan of the DMK (Kumbakonam), whose election had been questioned by his AIADMK rival Rama Ramanathan.The HC also issued notices to former DMK minister K R Periyakarruppan (Tirupattur) and DMDK’s K Nallathambi (Egmore SC), whose elections had been challenged by independent candidates.
