CHENNAI: Sun Pictures Chief Operating Officer Hansraj Saxena, arrested in connection with a cheating case, faced one more case on Friday even as he was remanded to 15 days judicial custody by a local court here.Police said the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners' Association has filed a cheating case against Saxena involving Rajinikanth-starrer "Endhiran", produced by Sun Pictures and released last year.The Association said Sun Pictures owed it Rs 1.5 crore but had gone over its head and released the film directly in theatres, police said.Saxena was arrested on Jul 3 on the complaint of a Salem-based film distributor and since then at least two more cases have been lodged against him.Selvaraj had alleged he was denied a part of the payment by the company in connection with the purchase of Tamil film 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai.'When he had demanded a sum of Rs 82.53 lakh from Saxena, he had delayed in repaying the sum and had later threatened the distributor when he asked for his money, Selvaraj had said.On July 7, Salem-based Shanmugavelu of Murugan Films filed a criminal complaint with K K Nagar Police here alleging that Saxena owed Rs 42 lakh to him and was intimidating him when he asked for his money.Saxena, whose two-day police custody got over yesterday, was produced at the 23rd Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Saidapet and remanded to 15 days judicial custody and sent to Puzhal jail, police said.
