Buneos Aires: A day after CNN-IBN managed to trace Bofors pay off accused, Italian businessman, Ottavio Quattrocchi to Sheraton Hotel in Buenos Aires, he has checked out of the hotel to an undisclosed location.
Quattrocchi, who is wanted in India, had not been allowed to leave his hotel since Tuesday, though it was not clear which authority had had said he could not leave his hotel.
The Italian businessman's lawyers had said on Wednesday that they were planning to change his hotel.
It was on the basis of an Interpol red-corner notice that the Argentinean police had arrested the Italian businessman on February 6 at the Iguazu International airport in Argentina.
He was being held in Ildorado Feredal Prison in Misiones province. Idorado is around 1,000 kms from Buenos Aires. It is a district adjoining Iguazu.
He was granted bail but was barred from leaving Argentina. He was also not being allowed to leave the Sheraton hotel.
On Wednesday, CNN-IBN also managed to speak to Quattrocchi over the phone. Quattrocchi said that he was just being unnecessarily harassed by the CBI and that there was no evidence against him.
He also said that he was being harassed by the media since CNN-IBN had discovered the hotel that he was staying in.
