BANGALORE:  Ashish Mohan Khokars Dance Discourse on Indian classical art of Kathak dance, Kathak Ki Kahani, Kotthe Ki Zubani..

BANGALORE:  Ashish Mohan Khokar’s Dance Discourse on Indian classical art of Kathak dance, Kathak Ki Kahani, Kotthe Ki Zubani will be held in Alliance Française at 6:30pm on May 25. It will be presented by Nadam dance ensemble under the artistic direction of well-known Kathak exponents in town, Murali Mohan Kalva and Nandini Mehta.  Dance Discourse is a regular academic exchange on the state of the art of dance. This was initiated two years ago, to bring closer the IT-Science city with classical Indian arts. Every alternate month, a subject, an aspect, a concern, a form or an artiste is showcased. Earlier, this was a platform for artistes, gurus, dancers, critics, connoisseurs to come together to take part in this tightly knit offering: half-an-hour of film on dance to show the past. An hour of actual dance to show where the dancer is, in the present context, and last half-an-hour of question and nswer session, with the audience, to show where the future of the form (or artiste) may head.In its third year now, the event continues to engage, unite, enlighten, inspire and enchant the audiences and art-lovers at the common man’s ever-expanding space for dance discourse and dialogue with this increasingly popular series, dance discourse, truly a people’s participatory gathering as all generations come.
